God made me do something for a brother and the forum was long overdue for some good old-fashioned preventive maintenance, so I decided it was time to dig into my toolbag, run some diagnostics and take a magnifying glass to one or two potential problem areas while I was at it.

Well, it is finished! Nearly everyone should see absolutely no difference. If you might be directly affected, I've sent you a PM. Just the same, and as always, if you happen to run across something that doesn't work right, post about it here if it's something that worked yesterday but not immediately after this this maintenance period, or in the "Houston we have a problem" forum for any other forum issues (and please be descriptive, supply a full URL if it involves a specific post or thread, etc).

Thanks, God bless you all, and let's get back to forumizing!

A forum colonoscopy?

:yikes:

"Back-end" in the forums world refers to the administrative control panels and all the other non-public stuff that confuses people like Stephen.

So yes, in layman's terms, God had me give the forum a colonoscopy.

The "view recent posts" has never worked right for me.

I love the way you lot mess about with the English language and make verbs out of anything that takes your fancy.

No Kitty, that's sorcery and as a Christian I just cannot entertain such evil.

However, 'dictionaried' could be a suitable US variant...

I've heard others say that, too, Kitty. It's not supposed to update as you go and there are no configuration options for it. It resets I think either based on reading then logging out then back in or at midnight if you've been online reading that day. I'm not sure. I don't use the feature. I just go forum by forum each time I log on. It's not usually that busy here, anyway.

Sorry, "should be dictionaried with an 's' as well" doesn't sound right and is poor grammar (not that grammar means much hear :D ).
