Just got the e-mail that I'm going to be playing electric on Sunday! I play regularly for Intervarsity at USC and played at my church's mens retreat, but this will be my first time in front of the whole church (besides youth sunday when I was a senior in high school). Wish me luck and maybe even say a prayer on Sunday, I'll probably be nervous!

That's great Kev. (We need a high-five smiley) Hope it all goes well for you. Just use your guitar to say to the Lord what's in your heart.

Cool Kev!
Can you get the music ahead of time? Sure helps the stress level to make a few notes and do a little prep work.

You'll be fine bro, just go up there and Worship Our King! It aint no performance, its Praise and Worship! Remember, if a wardobe malfunction didnt bother David when he danced before the Lord, dont sweat it! Just Praise Him!

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I'll probably get the songs tomorrow and will beat them to death by sunday (I like being prepared, but am used to winging it). This will be my first time bringing my newest Tele into the open. My main prayer is that God will calm my nerves (which will probably show up) and allow me to focus on Him....it can be so hard sometimes to worship while leading worship if ya know what I mean. I'll be sure to report back on how it goes and maybe for suggestions when I get the songs!

Hey all! Just thought I'd update you all on how things went today! First of all, here's the set list for the day:

I Will Call Upon the Lord
Crown Him With Many Crowns
Love Divine
The Grace Song
King of Glory (Tomlin)
Prince of Peace
Salvation Belongs to Our God
Fields are White

At first I didn't recognize most of those songs, but realized that I knew all but 2 (not on guitar though). Everything went pretty well, I didn't play a very large role until King of Glory when we started to ramp things up. The congregation responded well, and God was praised! The sermon was on salvation (as part of a series on what we believe as Christians, last week was sin), and the sermon was awesome! Also the new Tele played like a dream, and none of the power issues I had with a weird power string during rehearsal showed up during the service! Praise God!

All the Praise is His!
