Way cool.
How do you like the AxeFX? How big a learning curve, and how much time do you find yourself reprogramming? Do you ever use effects that are not in the computer? I have about a million questions, because I am considering selling off some gear and going to an AxeFX or Digi Eleven system for church. I am also wondering as to why you went for the Liquidfoot Pro, as opposed to the smaller unit.

I believe Lincoln Brewster is using AxeFX now. he gets some pretty darn good tones.

I LOVE my AXE-FX, and am blessed. Once you get your sounds, not too much programming. Could I do more? Sure! In fact I need to play with the Shiva and Marsha amp sims released a bit ago.
Not sure what you are asking in your 3rd Q. I think you are asking if I use any outboard effects, The answer would be no. Somewhere down the line I may a Looperaltive.
I went Pro for a few reasons. 1. the Jr was back ordered. 2. I wanted more PCs and IAs. (Yes I use all of them). I basically set up the IAs to control a number of common effects used in my patches. So rather than having to change patch mid-song (to one that may be 5 banks away), I can just stomp on IAs. Group programming is great, so by say hitting delay 2, it auto shuts off delay 1 and say verb. What ever you want. 3. I found a used Pro at a good price.
Most of the time you hear about how good it is in the studio, but I love it live just as much.
Its just so easy to give the FOH an XLR feed and you are good to go. Sure you may need to make sone minor global EQ tweaks for the room, but that is quick and painless. I had the opportunity to live this recently as I had a number of auditions at different churchs (my wife and I are changing churches).
I got rid of a bit of gear for this, so load in/load out is much simpler and quicker as well. What did this replace? AC-30, Fender BMR and a Cornell Plexi. A big effects board, various cabs, and a number of mikes (I seem to be picking about mikes and placements for some reason.
Is it for everyone? I don't know. I just know I have never regretted getting it, and I feel quite blessed that God provided for it.
PS: Learning curve - long for some, not for others. It was long for me, and I knew it would be, so my expectations were set accordingly.

Yes, you answered my 3rd question as well.

Oddly, while most computer stuff comes easily to me, (upbringing and profession), if find a lot of music programming truly tedious. While it would be nice to have each song programmed with it's unique tones, I am afraid that it would rapidly become pretty tiresome to program. But, for the reasons you note, and a couple of others, I keep thinking about going this way. Thanks for the input.

Sweet rig man... How much does the rack weigh? Do you leave the qsc at church or do you bring it home with you? I've been thinking about trying to find a lighter set up for at church... Right now I'd guess that I bring well over a hundred pounds of gear to church and back... Gets tiring.

Its not like computer programming or writing syntax. It is learning what everything does. There are tons of parameters for each block. iN just an amp block, I bet there are 40 different things you can adjust.
I don't think each song needs its own patch. That I think would be overkill. I get along pretty well with 12 patches. It comes loaded with 384 patches.

Yes I leave one of my QSC's at church. The other I keep at home. It weighs 60lbs.
The AXE-FX weighs 10 lbs. The wireless 2.5 lbs. The Furman 12 lbs.
The drawer is 16 lbs. The rack itself is 18 lbs.
So all together there, 58.5 lbs.

Pretty cool!
IF I ever went back to a digital rig, it would be something like this... I'm really really digging my real amps these days... Of course, the draw of all those options and massive variety at my fingertips is always appealing.
Right now, I've found "my" tone and don't really vary from it... Of course, it is will be a LOT harder to try something else if I ever get the urge...
For now, I'm really happy with my setup. I really got so "deep" into editing patches and adjusting this or that... I'd spend HOURS trying to get it to sound JUUUUUST right for a song -- then half the time it wouldn't sound "right" to me when I moved from home to church, etc. I'm finding my current "real" rig to be so much more forgiving -- of course, it is probably mostly psychological... When I can't adjust a thousand parameters, I don't wonder if I should...
