Hi guys *Long Post Warning*
I thought i should tell you of my latest adventures in the gear realm
First of all i'd like to thank God for His blessings in this matter!

So atm the moment i'm in the city and i've finally been able to test out a heap of gear... I told the guys about how I never get to play before I buy and they gave me access to their "wall of fame" as they like to call it. So I spent my whole day playing and even got to talk about worship and God.

First off a trio Gretsch's.
a G6120DSW(Dynosonics) and G6118T(Filtertrons) and G6136DC.
Three Wonderfully made guitars. of the three... I have to say its a draw between the G6120 and G6118T... necks were comfy not chunky but not small. the Tone outta these things... wow... Had them running through a Vox AC30HH/With Celestion Blues runnin at near break up. No reverb. Just letting them wail dry. It was hard to put the Dynos down. But My next electic guitar is going to be G6120 with "Trons"

after about and hour playing the guys came in to ask if i wanted to try some pedals... as it would happen it did which would lead me into...

Tc Electronics Nova Delay
So they grabbed me the last pedal I had thought about buying.
The Nova has some wonderful options to it. and it convinced me enough... that I'm going to buy one. So more on this in the next few days.

after playing around with the different sounds for awhile the shop assistant came and we got to talking about my favorite guitars... Teles. him being a tele fanatic he asked what sorts of teles do I like... gave him the short answer. Double bound, Maple Fingerboard, Tele bridge, Humbucker neck. He proceeded to tell me to close my eyes and turn around. A minute later he was back after about 20 seconds of clicking noises I turned around to behold one of these...

Andy Summers Telecaster
All I can say is... wow... never will I scoff at "relic" guitars again. This guitar is... lovely... in a broken old/new guitar kinda way. I proceeded to plug her in and coupled with the Vox... I kinda wish I never played it. The neck has that *Your Guitar* feeling to it. Broken it and entirely comfortable.

Bridge pickup... well its a tele... what else can one say. Middle Position... brought out the chime of the top boost channel... Neck bucker... :D middle position out of phase switch active gives that thin quack that is interesting yet useable... now i switched back to the bridge and activted the the Preamp. My jaw dropped... the amp was pushed over into over drive and the guitar was starting to vibrate into that classic rock feedback. I proceed to play for about 30 minutes using all the guitar capabilites... I want one... As much as I want it... I don't need it... $19,000au is too much... "note to self time to build your own"

From out of the wall of fame and into what they have named the "woodshed" it was time to play acoustically. the guys basically said that its free reign pick up and play... so I did... Going through Martins, Matons, Taylors and Gibsons I arrived at my next acoustic purchase... a Yamaha LOL!... More on that when I get back home.

As all this was all happening I diverged how I was a Worship player. This being the day before good friday the convo Started to get interesting. as time went on there were other christians who had been listening on and buying a new Washburn Acoustic. We proceeded to start talking about how great the Lord Jesus is... lol nearly started preaching... :D What a blessing the day turned out to be.

There where also many other guitars I played... New Fender American Specials, the New Vox AC Custom series, Squier Classic Vibe Tele Custom through a Fender 57 Deluxe, and other Fender Custom shop goodness! and i'm going back tomorrow for round 2!
as much as I like it here i'm already getting sick of the city... so its a twelve hour trip back home on sunday for me...

In Christ
John. (Excuse the spelling...)
Praise God.

Yes Brother its been so wonderful praise God.

I'm finally back home now... And I can't get the Tele off of my mind. I think I need to find a builder who'll make me one like it without the relicing.
One thing is for sure that Tele sure is special...

Another thing I was pleased with was Vox's new product line. Even the new Valve Reactor series sounds great great for anybody really and while you can get an abnormal amount of gain out of what you wouldn't normally get out of any tube Vox. It does the different sounds for different players very well. The new Custom series is a worthy replacement of the Custom Classic series. The thought has crossed my mind that I may buy an AC30 before I go onto buy Dr Z Maz Snr.

The new fender American Specials... These guitars are great. not too expensive and well made. Necks on both the Strats and Teles are nice. Not much else to differentiate them sonically to their more expensive brethren.

Squiers new CV Tele Custom has gotta be played to truly be appreciated. Neck is a little on the thin side for "Me" but doesn't mean its a bad guitar. Cosmetic wise the guitar like its 50's cousin is Flawless. Pickups sounded great to my ear... I had it plugged into a Tweed 57 Deluxe... that may be a factor... lol Would be a great back up guitar.

Had the pleasure of being able to play a Maton EBG808 Artist. These acoustics come with a pickup system called the APMic which combines the Norm under saddle with a near sound hole Condenser Mic so when your plugged in what you'll hear is pretty much what you hear unplugged.

I think Fender made the Andy Summers Signature series, without the relicing. I could be wrong. But If I recall, it happened right around the time the Police reunited.
