I found this YouTube clip from my local GLBT friendly church with that Pastor teaching on the bible and Homosexuality. I found it revealing and thought it should be added here to foster some discussion.
YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.
My take is this is some SERIOUS miss-representation and twisting of Scripture to justify what is unjustifiable scripturally.
Saying this you guys need to watch and judge for yourself. I found this rather enlightening and it explains Gay groups acting this way (WARNING abrasive language but this is REAL life stuff!) YouTube- Broadcast Yourself. towards Christians who preach Homosexuality as a Sinful lifestyle. Just so you guys have some context here the second Video I posted is the face of Homosexualty in it's venom towards most Christians I know personally all to well.

The scary thing is that these people are now accountable for the souls they are misleading.

Without watching the video I'll say this: believers have made homosexuality to be worse than lying, cheating, stealing, committing adultery, etc; all the while giving themselves a hall-pass on the other things I've named. These types of believers are deluded beyond measure. Just as are the homosexual believers that give THEMSELVES a hall-pass on their lifestyle choice.
All willfull, practicing sinners, practicing a defiant, rebellious lifestyle will go to the same place... and it isn't through the Pearly Gates.
You can call yourself a "christian" all day long but if you are knowingly living in willful rebellion to the Word of God you are dead already.
If you are an unrepentant: bigot, thief, liar, adulterer, murderer, (etc) or a practicing homosexual, the outcome and destination is the same.
Any sin is deadly in an eternal fashion if one does not repent- that means turn from their sinful ways and not just "be sorry" for them.
I would rather have lunch with some lost homosexuals than some of the uhh, "Christians' I know... and that is not saying much for some Christians.
Many of these within the homosexual ranks are hard-working, loyal people and outside of their deviant lifestyle, are moral folks with a right and wrong compass. The disconnect is generally with their sexuality.
The blood of Jesus was shed for their sins, as well as mine and yours. We need to love these people and live up to the std Jesus requires us to live... and the church needs to shape-up. We can't be "jr Holy Spirits", or do the convicting. God does that... only He can clean them up and set them free.

Agreed on all points bro! I will not support the bashing of those who are "Gay" by others. In particular I find it offensive from the Church. I also do not play well with those from the Homosexual community that are agressive in attacking the Christian Community. No where in Scripture do I see Jesus attacking those trapped in sin. If he did not do this then why do we?
The Holy Spirit is the one who draws and convicts of Sin not us. It is OUR job to share the truth in LOVE and set an example.
Saying that however it is REALLY hard to do that when you are being stoned!!

I didn't watch the video but let me say that there is a really nasty spirit behind homosexuality. (I believe there are demons) There is a young man that I am discipling currently that is just coming out of that lifestyle. It is such a deep rooted issue and he struggles with his past more than any of the dozen or so young men I am working with.
I really think the utter disregard for God's natural order all though no worse of a sin than any other sin is however one of the most difficult issues to break free from.

God does not prioritize sin; MAN does. God refers to all of it as"sin".

is referred to by Paul as a sin against our own bodies. It becomes an addiction the way drugs do because of the physical pleasure involved. Homosexualtiy is a form of adultery if we believe we are betrothed to Christ, but ALL sin is adultery if we are betrothed to Christ.
This particular sin is more visible than some others so it gets picked up on more. Yet we, believing brothers and sisters, are required to love people involved in this as we are required to love other sinners. Net effect = no difference.
I have worked and witnessed to a few homosexuals male and female including family members. When you let them know you love them anyway a lot of the argument goes away. I can't say that I won any over but I hope I didn't chase them away.

First, I haven't watched the video. Not sure I really need to, though I might later when I have more time.
I've had some issues with homosexuality for a very long time. Mostly because I know the Bible clearly states that this is an abomination to the Lord and so my simple mind says it's wrong, period. To me, it's been a cop-out to God's plan for a person's life. My own personal experience with it has been somewhat less than happy due to the shock factor I've seen it do to tear apart families (which is all I'll say because it's not in my family that I know of and doesn't matter here and now).
The conversation here has shed new light on the topic for me. Light that I knew already, and have been presented with many times, but for some reason just kept going over my head. Probably because I tend to be quite stubborn and old-fashioned sometimes.
I just wanted to say thanks to the Lord for using this thread to set my heart right in regards to this, and thanks to you guys for posting about it.

I likewise agree with my brothers and sisters here, that God hates all sin, and all sin is just that: Rebelling against God. Homosexuality, hate, adultery, drunkenness, lying, stealing, etc.... all the same in his eyes.
Why is it then "some" that are supposedly (I'm not judging, I just dont know them) under the umbrella of "Christianity", so assail the homosexual?
I believe it centers around Leviticus 18:22 (King James Version) "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." Abomination (תּוֹעֵבָה: tow`ebah), The structure of this sentence tells us, that God is upset for the design He created for one purpose, has been used for something completely different. Like a craftsman that designs an elegant knife for an award, and it is used for brutal ritualistic murders. The use of his design for something other than he intended, has now become abominable, because of the actions and results rendered due to the actions.
Many have (like that reverend phelps and his cloistered clan back in the midwest), taken that one word, in that one translation, and perverted its meaning. In my minds eye, they have made their interpretation of Gods Scripture and abomination!
God hates all sin. He hates unrepentant sin. But as long as men or women draw breath here on this planet, He demonstrates His love towards them, through the blood sacrifice of His One and Only Begotten Son, and The Holy Spirit calls out to them every day, that they may have the opportunity to answer His call.
Now there may be some that ignorantly believe that homosexuality is the only abominable sin, or a "Special" sin, because they have not bothered to actually study, with the True Guidance of the Holy Spirit, these passages, but rather, they have trusted in one or a few that have taught them this lie.
Ya know, its issues like these, that keep me praying, "Lord, help us perform the extraction of the collective cranial rectal inversion that we as a body suffer with........"

Actually, 1 Corinthians 6:9-20 (New Testament, not OT) has been what I've looked at. Particularly verses 9, 11 then 18-20 (for sexuality):
9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
12 "Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."[b] 17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. (NIV)

VERY well put Crunchy (Are you reading my mind again?) :)
It appears the Christians are now more on the defensive about their beliefs then the modern world's politically correctness which this countries laws are now protecting them. Morals are just going "down the tube" (to Hell) as each generation is brainwashed... :dunno:

Yes. And as this shows, it covers ALL (or at least most) sexual immorality. Heck, Paul seems to address the spiritual downward spiral of banging it with a prostitute way more than "effeminate" individuals. But that does not make prostitution of partaking in prostitution worse than a gay life style: It's all lumped together in that little ole thing I like to call "The Sin Lifestyle". If your "living it", your not living for Him.

Interesting. So, by this guy's estimation, I could put any sin or sinful desire in his sermon and say "God made me this way, and knew that I would be this way, so it is OK. I am perfect as I am!" A very interesting summation that completely leaves out the fall, and the fact that we are in a fallen world.
Because of his "oversight" of the fact that while God crated him perfectly, he was born into sin, and therefore excuses his sin with the false premise that he was born perfect. With that as a premise, any sin committed was "ordained by God" and should be accepted as "perfect" for that person. WOW:yikes:

That doctrine more or less falls along the same lines as Universalism. Both are unscriptural.

That doctrine is very much heretical.
