In addition to the Art & Lutherie I just picked up, ( which will go to a friend who's 12 year old son has started playing ) I came across a couple of deals I could not refuse.
First off, stopped by my favorite pawn shop and found a sweet, older Blueridge BR-32C acoustic. Looks to be from 1991 or so by the serial number, but there is very little info on the internet about it. Dread size, solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, big, comfortable fat neck, cutaway, faux tortise binding....the top has aged well and has a wonderful, old patina to it. After cleaning it up and a fresh set of strings, ( it was set up perfect, so nothing to do there for once! ) it sings like a bird! Rich, detailed sound with quite a bit of volume. The best part is I got it for $65.00 out the door! In the few days I've had it, it has already worked it's way to the top of my grab and go acoustics.
Next up is a nice, black Ibanez AEG10NE Classical Acoustic Electric. Like this
one here http://www.birdlandmusic.net/product.php?productid=4194&cat=0&page=1 I had a little practice amp listed on craigslist and a fella asked if I would be interested in trading. He lived close, so stopped by and the deal was done. It plays very well and plays/stays in tune. Not the greatest volume or tone acousticly, but good enough for around the house....but it sounds stellar plugged in! Can't wait to use it for worship and some recording.
