Sharp! I've been hearing more & more about the new generation of Traynors. Musician's Headquarters in Balch Springs seems to be the only dealer around here. Therefore, I have not had a chance to play any. The new blue one with two EL34s caught my attension. But I think you got it right on this one.

Hey, you and I are going to have to get together and trade some chops. I know we have talked about it before, but I have been a scatter brain lately. LMK.

Well, it's great to have a class A amp in the kit again after 4 decades, and this Traynor's a keeper. I can see why Traynor amps have the street cred that they do. Sits well in the mix, dead-quiet at idle, very easy to dial up whatever tone I need. Plenty o' volume from 15 watts for small rooms. The Greenback provides enough low-end punch and enough glass but never feels like an icepick through the eardrums. Although there's apparently not much power stage nor cone breakup going on in this amp -- virtually all of the dirt seems to be preamp distortion -- I'm surprised that a non-AlNiCo basket can sound this good. The 'verb in a lot of small amps is often unusable -- either too dry or too "The Ventures in Outer Space" -- but this one has plenty of usable range. At less than 45 lbs, my back appreciates the packaging.

Got it from American Musical Supply for $549 & change, free shipping.

Hey Rev, cycle back around, OK? I have old timers' disease myself!
