POD Farm anyone?

I'm just wondering if anybody uses POD Farm and how the sound quality would compare to something like the X3Live... I see a used UX1 recording interface for sale here locally CHEAP and am toying with the idea of picking it up... I already have a recording interface, a J-Station, and my analog rig, etc. but thought this could be fun for jamming as an alternative to the J-station... It would all depend on sound quality though...

Any thoughts specifically on POD Farm?

Also - does anybody know how the liscensing works for the software? If you buy a used UX1, can you register POD farm etc. with it? Does it work like a dongle or soemthing where it will only open when the UX1 is connected? I'd hate to get the interface only to discover that I can't actually use the software...
