Anybody ever take a standard electric guitar and re-work it to do something like "C" tuning (everything standard but down two whole steps) or even lower to "baritone guitar" range? What gauge string did you use? Anybody seen like an online calculator for string tension on something like this or anything?

Thanks!

My son did that to his Epi LP Special II. Sounds good.

He uses 11 gauge strings, and had toi turn some of the string seats on the bridge around to get it intonated.

I have a flying V that is in drop C full time
I use 11 - 60 on that one
it sounds great...
If I was gonna do standard two whole steps down then I'd us a 12 - 60 set

I have never been interested in a 7 string...
I don't know why... it would probably be fun... too many other things to buy I guess

I've been interested in checking this droptuning pedal.

Keep your guitar tuned the same, and the pedal "pitch shifts". Handles chords, and tracks well apparently.
