hi guys,
I'm trying a different demo format.
This time I'm using really short excerpts of things I've recorded, so the listener (maybe a producer, or someone like that) can get a feel for what my style's like without having to listen to 3 or 4 minutes of a complete song. Check 'em out:

Hi Randy,
I listened to a few of your clips and thought they were well done. Wish I could play/write/sing like that!
Just thinking though that those in the recording industry will probably WANT to hear what the entire song sounds like.
I added your page to "my bands" page, I like your style, blues/rock.

Thanks, colefish!
Yeah, its kind of a guessing game. The demo is for me as a guitar player to hopefully impress a producer or someone else that I could do their sessions. So, after talking with Greg V at Bogner, I thought the short out-takes would demo my style pretty well. People have a short attention span, and so this way they don't have to listen to a 3 or 4 minute tune in its entirety to get a feel for how I sound. If they want to hear the whole song, then I've got that as well. I'll probably do the cd, and take it down to Ardent here in Memphis to see what gives. There's a bunch of studios in Nashville and LA as well that I wouldn't mind checking out.

OK, I see what you're aiming for now.
May the Lord order your steps and bless the work of your hands. I'd love to see you do well.

Randy:
I just feel silly now after listening to your great guitar playing. You cover so many bases and I can hear complete confidence in your work.
I think short takes is great as something to get the attention. If they like what they hear, they will want to hear the full songs (hopefully within reach - like a couple of tracks later).
Keep up the great playing and the best of luck to your persuit.

Thanks, reverbb,
Maybe something will jump out of the bushes sometime soon!
