Goin Breedlove Sunday

Got the set list for Sunday and it looks like I'll be breakin out the Breedlove. Need to knock the dust off and put on a fresh set of Elixirs. I'll be strummin the spruce top on all four songs for Sunday's worship. To be honest I'm kinda bummed. I'm having such a wonderful time exploring new tones with my Pod and my wannabe Gibby LP. The all acoustic set comes as a bit of a let down.

But it's not about my entertainment is it now?

It's all fun if you make it that way.
Our band used to break out the acoustics in the 3rd set---the drummer used brushes on some songs,and we did Beatles and America tunes.It was fun,and went over well.
In church,I usually played electric---but I love acoustic too.

I know the feeling. I am the acoustic guy for my church (usually) as well. But on most Sundays, I get a couple or three electric songs. I like those moments as well. And it is sort of a letdown when we have an acoustic only weekend. But it is about the worship.

As the only guitarist in our little church, I almost always play a hybrid, so I can cover both electric and acoustic. But every once in a while, when I get the week's list, I come to the conclusion that the acoustic is all that's needed, so that's all I bring. Like Hooligan it's a Breedlove Atlas. Those weeks are pretty rare (maybe once or twice a year), but when they happen, I enjoy playing the big box as a change of pace.

I rarely play guitar in church anymore. Mostly, I play keys.

In my band, OTOH, it's ALL guitar!

I always(almost) use acoustic when song leading like last Sunday. I love it during the singing time, but when the instrumental part of worship kicks in I miss the lead/fill ins that I feel only an electric guitar can do. But as Hooligan said, it's about servititude. ;)
