I said I was done with building stompboxes but once again I found myself bored and with a stockpile of parts. So I built an EA Tremolo.

This project originated from an article by Anthony Leo in the November 1968 issue of the Electronic Australia Magazine. This wonderful sounding tremolo was brought to the attention of the DIY community on the internet by Greg Nabke. Lots of builders like this one, it's simple and it sounds great.

(from JD Sleep of General Guitar Gadgets)

I did all of the listed mods that were on JD's site. In case you didn't know JD is a Christian brother and uses his business as a tool to outreach at the risk of loosing business. :cross:

He lists all of the specs for his kits and allows even his PCB layouts to be available to the public.

The toggle switch bypasses the tremolo effect leaving the pre-amp available for a clean boost. I like having that option as I won't use the tremolo very much. The lef LED is the on/off indicator. The right LED indicates the tremolo speed and is always on.

Not to ask a stupid question, but how many DIY pedal sites do you deal with? Kind of curious, as my son built a pedal from BYOC, and I believe you have mentioned one other.

Thinking about building something. Maybe an amp, maybe some pedals, maybe nothing....:embarassed: but thinking nonetheless.

I didn't include BYOC lol

Oh, and I have had some problems Tonepad's layouts. Their layouts are very tight! Not enough room for everything depending on what parts you are using.

:Hmm: I thought you also mentioned Indy guitarist once, or am I mistaken?

for amps, I am thinking about a JTM45 from Metro

http://metroamp.com/

well, among other possibilities.

Ya, I have Brian's book on modding pedals. I knew I was forgetting something.

I've heard nothing but good things about his service.

Looks nice! I made three pedals in my lifetime... One was a passive A/B switch... the other two were foot switches for amps... Of course... ...I sound more "cool" when I just stop with, I've made pedals too!:dunno:

On the other hand, I've done about every conceivable wiring combination and pickup swap including some absolutely ridiculous ones allowing me to swap my entire strat between series and parallel wiring on the fly, phase inversion for each pickup, all seven pickup combinations, etc. etc. etc.

I should have bet money on this:

I knew it wouldnt even be three months till you started building more pedals.

I coulda been rich, I tells ya!

Yeah, but you would have to find someone to take that bet. That leaves out everyone here:yikes:

I once had a guitar that I wired for just about every conceivable combination of pickups.
In the end it was very confusing to play onstage, and although there were some unique tones in there, that doesn't mean they were all good.

If I built it, there would be either NO sound or incredible amounts of noise.

Here's an amp site:

Here is another one. They also have a forum for builders. Several variations on the old Marshall 18 watt, and a bit of Vox as well.

I got to this one off of the old 18 Watt forum, which despite several mentions of its demise still seems to be going.

One more pedal site I ran into

http://www.toneclonepedals.com/

No, it didn't hurt. Velocity differential was low.:hmm:

That is Brian Wampler's site (Indyguitarist) and the kits aren't currently available. YET!

Yeah, that was right at the top of the page on the web page. The part I didn't read:embarassed:

June 1 is the date for availability. Thinking about trying one, but I am not sure I need another OD/distortion.
