The last two venues I've played at, I've found my tone way from where it usually is. I noticed this when I was down in the LA area a few weeks ago, but I didn't have time to chase it down at that time.
I'm thinking it's the vast array of tone controls on my MI BluesBoy Deluxe that have gotten jostled off-kilter (there's 4 knobs with a huge range of control); but I'm wondering if any of you have had any 'drift' of your settings within the L6 unit itself that you are using. I would think not, but I'm just trying to isolate any improbables.
Thanks!

Yes and no.
I have had a couple of settings "change" on me. The most notable was after a Flash Memory upgrade (but that was noticeable immediately through the headphones).
One thing to remember is that the POD DOES emulate an amp. The venue can affect it similarly to the way an amp must be adjusted for different places. It's usually not quite as bad as with an amp, but it can require some tweaking for the new room (usually not much, though).

Lee- yes, I'm aware that the flash upgrades can change your settings. Hmm. That might be part of it.
I'll have to tweak my settings and save em in gearbox from now on. You know what? Now that I think about it- I DID do an upgrade recently. Between that, and my stompbox settings getting a bit scrambled, there ya have it. Thanks, Lee.

Do you backup your tone bank with the Line 6 Monkey?

Aaaahhh, the good old days, when all that would happen would be a broken string or broken tube. :wasntme:
That is one thing about digital stuff that concerns me.I used to use an ART SGX-2000---one day it decided to dump all my meticulously programmed sounds back to factory.:yikes: I had spent alot of time tailoring each sound for each guitar, and a few custom patches for certain songs. This older unit used the old battery style backup (coin style).
Hope everything gets back to normal there Crunchy.

I share that concern, brutha. However, the convenience of changing amps (yes, plural), effects chains, and speaker cabinets (along with mic'ing) with ONE press of a button makes it worth the risk.
I have several backups of my POD settings, so I can get at least some semblance of what might be lost.

I would rather have some out of whack settings than a broken tube, actually... well, NO- I'd rather have neither!
Truthfully, it seems the brunt of the problem was with my MI BBDlx pedal settings getting messed-up in transit. I need a little box to put that thing in so the knobs don't get moved. Regular tape over the knobs isn't enough.
Lee- I usually save settings with L6 monkey... but I need to do more of that.
