DD-20 anyone?

Hey guys! I'm getting closer and closer to dropping my GT-8 in favor of a return to my trusty old tube-amp and some good individual stomps... I'm pretty happy with all of my effects at the moment with the exception of the fact that my delay is not tap-tempo enabled... I'm also finding that I end up reaching down to "tweak" my delay between songs quite a bit and thought it might be cool to have some "presets"...

All told, I'm looking for a really really good / flexible delay that is tap tempo ready... Any thoughts?

I'm mostly considering the Boss DD-20 and Line 6 DL4 so far, although, I'm pretty concerned about some reliability issues that the DL4 seems to have according to an awful lot of reviews...

I have a dl4, it's really nice... you can do all sorts of analog sounding stuff...
plus the 28 second looper is cool
tap tempo...
but.....
it does not have a .8 setting... you have to tap that in manually
in that way gigadelay is better...

I had a DD-20 and LOVED it! My son has it now. The only reason I got rid of it is that my buddy built me the sweetest sounding analog delay pedal I've ever heard and I can't justify not using it. I also have to turn knobs between songs, and it doesn't have the tap tempo, but I've been fine with it for the tone of the pedal itself.

That being said, I had the DD-20 and one of the teenagers in the youth worship band I lead has the DL4. To me, I prefer the DD-20... but that's my preference. You'll probably get a 50/50 split on which one is "better". They're both good... you can't go wrong with either, unless you get a DL4 that has some of the reliability issues. The kid in my band has had no problems with his.

I love my DD-20, I use it with external fs5u to handle tap tempo duties....great setup for me!

Well, I purchased a DD-20 today and will be checking it out... I'm about 1/8 of an inch from selling my GT-8 at the moment... I'm just tired of it...
