This morning after work I shoot right in the house and plug in my Les Paul and start trying to learn "Today....Day" in C rather than D like I've been playing it. I figure with these new Power chords it's worth another shot. Well things are coming along nicely. So I start gooffing off with "shout your fame" then I realize it sounds awesome using nothing but power chords (C, G, A, F) Then I realize I can play that tune three different ways. I can now play that song using open chords (too much work) barre chords like I have been playing it and now using my new bestess friend power chords......:yeah::yeah::yeah:

You guys don't like 'Slick Willie" preset on the X3. I think it rocks! That by the way this will be the only time you hear me say I like Slick Willie!

I've also come to the conclusion I need my own forum here called "What Matt Learned Today" :smart::smart::smart::smart::smart::smart:

I tell you what else I don't mind is "tweed solo" using my neck pick up with the tone knob all the up to 10.

Did you guys ever think you'd hear me talking like this, me Mr. Acoustic!

This is alot of fun!

I can't wait till noon to see you guys reply laughing at me for acting like such a kid, I'm 38 for crying out loud. You'd think I just kissed a girl for the first time.

How do you handle the open string pedal-tones in C?

Sounds like your having a lot of fun- keep it up!

Les Pauls are great guitars- there are a lot of very different tones to be found by adjusting the volume & tone controls, mixing the neck & bridge...

I went to see him in concert with my mother in 1984 LOL! I was about 10 or 11. I didn't even think about playing music then and wished I was on stage.
Years later at a youth event my old band was playing, one of the guys that used to tour with him(can't remember what he played, was there as a shapperone(SP?) for some church). Whodathunkit?

Maybe he found a woman like that:hmm:
