While most of your questions can be answered by clickin on the FAQ link at the top of the page I thought it would be wise to give a few more FAQ's, that can be of help in navigating, and participating here at the Guitarist's Praise and Worship Forum:
1) I know it goes without saying, but if you start a post with, "I dont want to offend any one here,...." , or, "this may upset some of you,....", good chances are, you shouldnt post it!
A good rule of thumb: if you are making a post that is a hot issue with you, take the time, and hit the "preview" button first, rather than submit. Re-read your post! Think: could someone misinterpet what I'm saying here, and take offense? if you answer "yes", try to re-write it, or come back later, after you have thought about it awhile.
2) In free forums like this (no fee to join), there is a possibility of a "flame-war" breaking out. "What is a flame-war?" A flame-war, is where two or more users, get into a very heated debate, start drawing lines, others will join in and choose sides, then before you know it, there is a lot of name calling, posturing, and very non Christ-Like behaviour. If a flame war erupts, it is best to walk away: do not add a reply. Dont jump into the mess: it's just like steppin in dog-pooh, very nasty, and messy.
Plus, if you are deemed by me, or my moderators, as being an instigator in a flame war, you will be blocked, and very possibly banned, from the Guitarist's Praise and Worship Forum! I have given the moderators the ability to block individuals that violate this rule. So dont jump into a flame war, because you feel it is wrong what was said: you might find your self locked out, or banned!
3) Doctrinal differences: We may from time to time, have some doctrinal differences. It's gonna happen. Baptist, Calvinist, Presbyterian, Pentocostal, Episcopalian, Vinyard, Assy of God, Calvary Chapel, Armenianism, etc.. BUT, we agree that Jesus is The Only Way to The Father, there is no other. Period. We are not god's, we are heirs, by His Blood, Grace, and Mercy alone. Jesus is the 'El Supremo' here!
Now in this light, inviting a fellow user to your church in your area, is not a problem. But, if you are actively trying to convert, or proselytize, agressively, you will probably be getting a pm, or email from me, or one of the moderators, asking that you cool your engines a bit. Like I said, I have no problem with you inviting anyone, innocently, and in good nature, to your church, or recomending to check out an affiliated church. But if you begin PMing, and posting in a way that is agrressive, were gonna have to step in. Share in Love, but abstain from compelling as the Pharisee's do.
4) Currently, we have no forum for selling anything. There is a reason for that: if I open up a forum for selling, there will be buyers, and sellers. Inevitabaly, there will be problems in sale transactions. The buyers check bounced. The seller sold damaged goods. The delivery service damaged the goods, and no one will rectify the situation. Flat out, I dont want to get involved in that mess. Even if I said, "AT YOUR OWN RISK!", we'll still hear about it, and be expected to do something. So, we wont have that forum here.
While I'm on this subject, please do not mass PM/email users with "hey I got this for sale!" Thats trying to skirt around it, and I dont want to hear users complaining, or asking, "Well, if so-n-so can do it, why cant I?", or, "cant you stop them from Pm/emailing me?" It's one thing, if a couple of you are buddies, and you deal one on one this way. But sending out mass spam PM's/email to all the users, is just rude. Lets not be rude.
5) If you encounter a problem here at Guitarist's Praise and Worship Forum!, post in "Huston, we have a problem!" It might take a little bit to get things sorted out. Be patient. I'm not the best webmaster, but I'll give it all I can! I also have a bunch of great moderators, that are a blessing from God, and I know they will help too, but you have to give us a chance. It might take a few minutes (best case scenario), or a few days (worst case scenario). But it will get taken care of. And just so everyone knows up front: I will not tolerate mean, threatening emails/PM's to either my moderators or myself, just because you feel we are not fast/efficient/cater enough to your demands/needs. I am not doing this for money. I dont pay my moderators. This is for Jesus, and we want this to be joyful for all, but I wont let my moderators get beaten up. I asked them to help, and they jumped at the chance to serve!
Now I know that some of this might have sounded a little harsh, but it is not really. I am simply establishing some ground rules, up-front, so we can all continue to enjoy the fellowship we are having here! This place has been a blessing from day one, and I hope and pray it continues to be. We are on the ground floor of participating in something special, that I am convinced, God started. but, we need to be good stewards here, and continue in the path that we have begun on!
All of you have helped make this a special place, and I am blessed every time I come here. I hope you are too! And let's continue to help make thsi a special place for all those that will be joining in with us! i know if we keep Jesus as the Head here, it will prosper!
If you have a comment about these FAQ's, and guidlines, feel free to PM me, and I will get back to you.
Be Blessed!
