Anyone out there using or familar with this amp head? Due to financial strains, I'm paring down the gear and need an inexpensive head ( to couple with an old 2X12 Sivlertone cab ) for use with the worship team. I can get one of these very cheap from the local store I frequent, but I'm wondering how they sound!? I have a V-Amp ll, so I'm familar with the patches, layout and editing, but wondering about the power ( 2 60 watts amsp ) it puts out. Is it enough for nice, fat clean tones? Also, do they sound better with extended frequency speakers rather that regular guitar speakers? I have a pristine set of 12" 50's EV Wolverines pulled from old stereo speakers and wonder if those would work better than the vintage Jensens.

I like Behringer stuff quite a bit (although a V-amp processor I had sounded better in headphones than it did through real amplifiers).

My AC112 Vintager has a Jensen, which sounds great.
I also have a little bitty AC108 that sounds great through a Marshall 4 ohm 4 X 12 cabinet, and pretty good through its own tiny 8" speaker.

I don't have extensive knowledge of their digital stuff, beyond the V-amp processor I had, but I like their analog stuff a lot.

I'd try the Sears speakers first. My "Vintagers" sound pretty vintage!
And they don't get crummy sounding when they're cranked up either.

Perhaps I may get a head like yours and the cheaper of their 4 X 12 cabinets in the future.
I just can't see spending loads of money on amps anymore, when Behringers sound so good for so cheap!

The onlt down side I've heard of is the plastic pot stems are easy to shear off with a bump, so be careful.

...I've had quite a lot of Behringer gear. I got my first Behringer amp just because I was sick and tired of hearing peeps bashing a brand because it is cheap. The first amp I got was the AC112 Vintager. It's a killer amp for the bucks. It is pretty small and has a really nice bite. The next amp I got was the GX212 a 2x60W amp with Jensen speakers. Then I got the Behringer 4x12 cabinet, and I have used that with several tops including the new 1200 series.
I admit I am spoiled when it comes to amps. I use mainly ENGELS and have a MavenPeal Ganesha 1-100 comming in in the middle of May. But for smaller gigs I use my Behringers a lot. It's a matter of getting to know your amp and tweaking it the right way. There is no doubt in my mind that the 1200 can produce fat and clean tones. IF i were u I would go for the head and try it out. As far as speaker choice goes I would prolly stick with the Jensens.
