Yes, that's right I have my very own Stripper. No I'm not talking about a tool or chemical for removing paint but an honest to God Sex Worker!!!!
Why am I praising God? After 3 years with our church she has finally quit dancing. EVEN THOUGH IT LEFT HER WITH NO INCOME! Oh, Praise God. This is one of my favorite stories.
Soon after she started attending our church she mentioned that she really didn't go to church because people had made her feel so bad. I didn't know the details at the time but as they came out I asked her where she worked and she told me the name of the club. She said she was trying to start a dance studio. Later she was in a horrible car accident and was in a doctor induced coma for about 6 weeks. She came out and was fine, walked with a limp for a few months after having broken 2 bones in her leg, some ribs, a collar bone and something else.
About 4 months later she asked if she could do a praise dance in service. That led to a praise dance ministry. (and remember this is a stripper now). She eventually developed dancers and a jr dance team of 4 to 10 year olds who practice every sunday after church.
Now for the last 4 months she has quit her profession and joined the choir, been fairly regular in bible study and trying to build a health ministry in the church!!!!! She even began to talk about it in our monthly testimony time alluding to it without going into detail. I believe it is a matter of time before she begins to use her testimony with other people to let them know if they let go of sin and hold on to God's unchanging hand that He will lift them up also.
She is one of my prized members not because of what she is doing but because she proves that if we simply love people through, preach the gospel with love, not backing off of God's demand for holiness but loving un-holy people anyway that HE will transform them.
I am so proud of her! I am so admiring of her that I want the whole world to know that God has turned her life around and seen her through the economic devestation caused by her repentance.
Oh give God some glory y'all. Shout his name from the rafters for He is good! His mercy endures to all Generations. He visits the sins of the father unto the third and fourth generations of those that hate Him, but showers mercy and love on the thousands that love him. I am amazed to serve such a wonderful God.
