FYI---David Allmon is a brother in Christ!

I recently had a set of vintage spec P90s wound for me by David Allmon of Tex-Tone pickups to replace the Gotoh KMS Olds in My Leavesville, MS Peavey Firenza.

Before winding, David wanted to know what kind of guitar, wood, neck, fingerboard, type of music, and amps they would go through.

The neck came in at &.2K and the bridge at 8.48k. He removed the brass baseplate off the neck as he feels it helps keep the neck from getting muddy.

He wound one so that they are humbucking when both pups are selected.

WOW! These sound great! just like P90s should! Plenty of snarl and nastiness when overdriven yet they clean up beautifully with my guitar's volume knob. The big surprise is the middle position: sounds like a Strat on steroids...just a beautiful tone. I have 3 useable tones with this set. The bridge is just right with the midrangeey P90 tone that I love. The neck is very clear & not muddy at all.

Noise? No more or less than any P90 I've ever heard...build quality seems great & looks great.
I have run these through my 5E3 tweed Deluxe clone and my 18 watter Lil Dawg clone hard. Just perfect, classic P90 tone.

David was aces to deal with and his prices are great. CHeck him out Tex-Tone Pickups. My highest recommendation!
