Hey guys, I spent a week in Fl at the beach and took the guitar. Played it every day outside with the sand, salt, etc. Is there anything special I need to do to clean it , or just give it a good wipe down and change the strings?
Thanks in advance for the info.

Thats a good question.
I took acoustics to the beach years ago, and other than shake out the sand and look for any warping of the wood, I just used my good ole Pledge lemon scented furniture polish to clean her up.
But I never thought that things like the salt air, salt water might affect the guitar. Couldnt tell you if anything popped up down the road, because I got rid of the guitar soon after.
Maybe someone else can chime in, and be more helpful than me...........

Salt air corrodes strings and speeds up metal parts corrosion.
Wipe 'em off, change strings if they're crummy lookin' etc.
A week at the beach shouldn't hurt a guitar.
However an hour in a hot car trunk can melt the glue and cause all kinds of structural problems.
Fast temperature and humidity changes are hard on guitars, as well as excess heat.
Too dry causes fretboard shrinkage as a tell tale sign that the guitar needs to be humidfied.
My main worry at the beach with a "nice" guitar would be stratches and sand abrasion. Vacume out the bag or case?

...I just used my good ole Pledge lemon scented furniture polish to clean her up.......:yikes: I'm almost positive that stuff has silicone in it. Lacquer doesn't adhere well to it if you ever need a touchup overspray or refinish. Always use a good fine grit silicone free polish like Meguiars #7
