Took back the Schecter - my Strat simply blows it away tone-wise.
Picked up a DigiTech GNX4 - this thing is flat out amazing.

What are you playing the GNX4 through? I picked up a GNX1 on sale at GC for $99. I took it back last because I didn't sound right live.

Playing through Blues Jr. for the stage - using pretty clean settings - have to flatten the EQ a bit (still fiddling with the basic tone).
Yesterday, on a whim, the sound guy decided to run it through the PA as well. Then on another whim we decided to use the drum machine for a few songs in the set (it was an acoustic set with just my guitar and a song leader - and around 40 kids/10 adults).
We had a few levels issues (because of the spur of the moment factor and I forgot to turn on Speaker Compensation [oops]), but all in all it was a blast! And my Ovation acoustic sounded just fine. The strat sounds great too. I can't wait to build some of my own presets.
I used the default Clean Chorus preset and adjusted the EQ on my guitar's preamp to scoop the mids and high end a bit.
In a nutshell, sound quality was not an issue at all. I expect the GNX4 is quite a bit different than the GNX1, mainly because of three generations of improvements.
I ended up returning the unit during my tonequest. It was a good one, but I had to exchange it to have credit to use on other gear.
