Two milestones where met this week, here at the GPAWF!! The first milestone, was we now have 75 registered members.
The second milestone: we just surpassed 2000 posts on the forum!
Some may be thinking, 'Big deal, 75 members and 2000+ posts, whats so big about that?' Well, when you consider that our official start date was September 8th, 2004, that puts this forum at just a little over 5 months old. Also, this forum has only been advertized really, by word of mouth. That is phenomenal in my book!
Yes, we did hit a few bumps in the road: our old webhost was sadly, not able to provide adequate service to keep the forum up and active on a regular basis, allowing some malicious hacking to interfere, and eventually they even went out of business, with out even so much as saying, to us, or any of their other clients, "You may want to find another host".
But, out of that, we have found a new home here with ForumsPlace, and they have greatly surpassed my expectations as a webhost!
Another great attribute, is all of you! Everyone that participates, here have been a great asset to this forum! You guys are a part of it being so cool! I love you all!
Now this attribute is very special to me: My Moderators! I have the 4 best moderators that a webmaster could ask for! Each one brings such great intrinsic value to the table, that I would be hurtin if I didnt have em here!
Roger (reverbbb): He and I have been buddies now for a couple of years, and we have never met face to face! And I count him as one of my best friends. We have talked about some heavy things that has taken place in our lives, and been there to give eachother a 'boost' on occassion!
Gary (Pearly Gator): here is another buddy, that I have met face to face! Always giving, and ready to lend a hand, and so supportive in his attitude, and his approach! And a great guitarist too!
Peter (ptralan01): I am blessed to have Peter here as part of the team. he brings with him, the Pastors heart to the table. he has shared with us from the Word of God, and shared with us the wisdom that he has been given by The Word of God.
Alexander (kewlpack): the "New Guy!" man, talk about your go-getters! this guy jumps in and ready to serve! That was the easiest choice to ask him to become a moderator! Not only is he astute in "gear", but he is observant, and ready to share his insights, and suggestions.
But most importantly with all four of these guys, I know they belong to Jesus! I am so thankful that they are walking with me on this journey, because they have made the burden light for me! I love you guys, thanks again for being so willing.
But the biggest and most important attribute of this forum, is Jesus! If it was all me, it would be doomed to fail. When I started this forum, I knew zilch about running a forum. Never even been a moderator! And I never aspired to be a "webmaster". Heck, when I started the board, for several days, if not a week or two, up where it says (at the top right of page), "Guitarists Praise and Worship Forum!! Guitars: Optional. Worshipping Jesus: Crucial!", it said; "your forum name here. say a little something to describe your forum." Yup, sad but true! I didnt have a clue, but my learning curve has been drastic, and I have picked up a couple tidbits here and there. Like I said, if it was my doing, you wouldnt be here right now.
So all the Praise and Glory goes to my King Jesus, Lord and Saviour of my soul.
So thanks again to all of you, and keep this forum in your prayers.
