We've begun practicing this song in earnest.

This is a great song! very guitar driven, and I'm having a lot of fun with it! The chord progression is very early eighties punk: Bflat, F#, C#, E (pretty much the whole song, except for one line of the chorus: Bflat, F#, E).

On the E during the I alternate between an open E, and a Barre E, just to give texture. On the second stanza of the main lyrics, I incorporate a lil punk/reggae shuffle, and on the chorus, it is straight ahead driving power chords (barre E on every chorus stanza), with a lot of pinch harmonic strums on the E chord.

We are getting a great response from everyone on this song!

I threw that song suggestion out to our group about three months ago. This past Sunday was the first time we played it for the congregation.

I can't tell you what I did on the technical front. I just played the chords. I held back and let the acoustic guitar playe on the verses. Then, I added a soft electric appegiation on the "pre-chorus". Then, of coarse the heavy handed power chords on the chorus.

Awesome song that is FUN to play. I love working with dynamics.

There is another song called "Beautiful One" by a band called By The Tree. I like it a lot too.

Here are their tour dates in California:

09.18.04 Bakersfield, CA @ Station 3:16

09.19.04 Riverside, CA @ Harvest Christian Fellowship

...couple of different way's, and all I did was combine a couple of ways, and add some of our own style to it.

This has got to be one of my favorite songs to do right now, cause it is so fun, and the response from everyone is so great: they are really praising the Lord!
