Hey, gang. I'm trying to find accurate guitar tab for the fills and solo break in "Love the Lord" by Lincoln Brewster. We just started doing this song at my church, and will be doing it for our annual "Night of Praise" on 9/23. I've only found one thing on the net PERIOD and it didn't seem too accurate to my ears. Anybody tabbed this out, have the tab, or be willing to tab? Even with using a program to slow down the song, the other instruments cover up the lead guitar parts so much that I can't pick it out. Thanks!

Hi Wes;
I agree, this is a great song & I plan to introduce it as well.
Here is a link for the song:
www.pwarchive.com

For the most part, their charts are accurate and they have a function that allows you to change keys.

Thanks, man! Actually, I have the chords...it's the actual lead tab for the fills and for the solo break that I've been unable to find. Any leads on that?

Thank you!:)

Hi Wes;
We are going to be doing a "choir " arrangement of this song.
If, for some chance, the solo is notated, I'll send you a PM.
Sorry I didn't read your post right.

No prob, dude. Thanks for replying!:)

I've tried using some programs to slow down the fills and solo break, but there are so many instruments going on, it's been too hard for me to pick out. Not that I can play it, but I'd like to try;)

dmock,

Wes

This has been on my mind for a long time - to get this actually tabbed out. We just played it yesterday at our worship service.

In looking at my calendar I'm booked every day through at least April 20th so I'm not going to get time for it before then - unless I try to describe it out here. So, I'm at my desk at work with no guitar - but I'll give it a go and hopefully it will get you started.

First off - we play the All To You live version although we repeat the intro section between the first chorus and second verse as opposed to breaking it down acoustically, but you can work the riff that plays into the verse easily enough from my description here.

Okay - I load up some chorus and delay for the intro part to slide on the B string from the 8th fret to the 15th three times (and back to close the phrase).

At the end of the first verse leading into the stop (right before the phrase "with all my heart") the lick goes like this:

hammer on 12 - 14 on the A string
Pull off 14 - 12 on the G string
Pull off 14 - 12 on the D string (twice)
hammer on 12 - 14 on the A string
12th fret on the D/G (and 12 on the B if you want to) played together to finish

Noodle around with that and you'll get the feel for how it fits together. The lick he plays on the disc going into the second verse is a slight variation of the above:

hammer on 12 - 14 on the A string
Pull off 14 - 12 on the G string
Pull off 14 - 12 on the D string (twice)
14 on the A string (I think, could be 12 - I can't remember)
12 on the B
12 on the G
13 on the B (or something close to that - again, I don't play it that way so it's been a while since I've played that lick)

The bridge in the middle is this:

These are all double stops on the G/B strings (G above the/B below) -

12/12
12/12
11/10
11/10
9/8
9/8
... then climb back up. It's going back and forth between those three double stops. The lick in the middle is another small variation on the main lick:

Pull off 14 - 12 on the G string
Pull off 14 - 12 on the D string (twice)
hammer on 12 - 14 on the A string
12 on the G string
10-12-12-10 on the A string

Goof around with that a bit and you'll feel it in time with the lick.

If I get some time some night I'll plug into my DAW and talk through the licks, but please don't hold your breath on that.

Hopefully this "walk-thru" description will get you the notes involved. Really, all the licks he plays are slight variations of each other. Once you get the basic hammer-on/pull off at the 12/14 fret, you'll have them all.

When I first learned this song I played the riffs around the 7/9 fret on the D/G and the 8/10 on the B but I found that playing it straight across the 12-14 fret on the A/D/G strings is easier to manage.

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back on this thread and I hope this gets you far enough down the road that you can work it through from here. If not, post again and I'll try to get a more detailed explanation/clip to follow.

Hey, bro! Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I haven't had much time to noodle around with the guitar, but plan to really soon. I appreciate all the hard work and will definitely get to it soon. Thanks!

No worries here - just wanted to see if my description was useful.
