Man----just got my set of Will Boggs 67-07 custom PAF winds......wowie zowie, tone city!
These are wound using original '67 wire.Very articulate, nice clarity in the low mids (a tough eq area)---I'm still finding out what these things can do.They sound very clear, not sterile or constipated like some "PAF" winds can.I had to retune my ear to really hear all the nuances of these pups!
Thanks to Will for not only his skill and expertise, but being a super class act,fun to talk to,and giving me the tone I want!

Quit tempting me. I've heard nothing but good about WB pickups. I'm very tempted to get a set of his Reverends for my R9.

Yowza! I just about fell over backwards when I saw the price! For that price they better be the best!

Yeah, I was thinking that for that price either there should be a guitar included or Mr. Boggs himself should show up on my doorstep with a soldering iron and a screwdriver in hand. rofl

Here are a few rough demos I did testing the pups----excuse the clams. :embarassed:
I used my '50s LP Standard and a J-Station.

When you consider the cost of original PAFs ($3000-8000 EACH),these are extremely fair. These have THAT tone, from sophisticated to rude, with that elusive hollow mid.

wow....
that's nasty... nasty in a good way.
I think you've got me sold...
that second track is right on man... great feel... and some real tasty playing.

Okay, having listened to them, I'd spend the cash on them if I could. :embarassed:

However, Refin, I gotta say that you could probably make my $85 Kramer with a cheap Floyd Rose II and "Designed by Seymour Duncan" pups sound like a million bucks.

Well, after I bought the axe for 85 bucks, I did have to buy a new bridge for it, but...

I am looking to fund some new gear expenditures. Let me know if you're interested. I could be persuaded. :hmm:

Hey guys, thanks for listening (and the nice words....I'm just another internet picker).
I've had a little more time with these pickups, and they are really nice.I knew it would take something spectacular to dethrone my previous custom winds, and these did the job.

That my friends, is a really good endorsement. Ole refin is one heck of a picker and a tone hound. So if he says there good, they gotta be!

Slow blues always show a pickup---and the abundant clams of the player! rofl

Very nice refin! I strongly support independent pickup makers, and players or guitar modifiers (somebody thinkin' moderators ? lol) all the way up to Kinman  , but now I see more expensive ones, and you got 'em!

Congratulations and be blessed. I've had a couple of guys make pickups for me, repeatedly, and they are my favorites, especially if I design them, figuratively putting my stamp on them, and a little piece of my heart into my guitars, while I didn't actually make them. Correction: I made many of my axes, but not the pups, and we've gone a little further too, with switching tricks and hardware for the public to buy, based on research and effort. Coincidentally, I designed a set of humbuckers after the Reverend's as well, or Billy G. who got at least one pickup, or perhaps a set before I did, and I didn't want mine identical, but close enough. I'm not a good enough player to explore their full potential, but it's all there, and yes they DO make a cheap guitar sound great! ;)

I have just one pickup maker now, you know, and loyalty is very essential, especially if people have been good to you. My friend has been very reliable and conscientious, and I like his/our pickups just as you like yours. The Will Bogg's seem quite amazing. Nice going, cool site you've got too, with your blog, comments etc.
