I have been using a Cybertwin at church and with our outreach band <Warrior's Cry> and will probably not look for anything else. I can get close enough to other amps, only other guitarists would notice. I play for the Lord anyway. I've narrowed it down to about 4 patches out of all that are available and they're all my own. I add effect's to those and I do fine. Fender's customer shop patches are there to demonstrate the amp, never meant to be useful anyone. The new CT-SE sounds nice but not enough to go get one. I haven't noticed the short-comings of the original like allot of others have.
I fell vicitim to tubes last spring and got a Traynor YCV-80 and am winding up not using it much. It's nice and can get that tube sound but it's too easy to grab the CT and run. No fumbling with effects. cables or wal-warts. Almost bought a Blues Deville but didn't and am now glad I didn't. I'd still be using the CT.

It's not that heavy either, great for my back. I've down to using about 4 amps circuits and add the effects on those. The custom shop patches are examples of what it can do, not that anyone would want them. I don't think anyone does. You can taylor the sound to your own ears. I've been real happy with it.

You know (and this is coming from a tube-snob) there is something to be said for portability, and quick setup. Replete with all the whistles and bells.
After 30 years schlepping gear (and playing), it's just not 'fun' anymore.
I'd be happy if my rig consisted of something the size of a school lunchbox....
as far as only guitarists being able to know the difference- don't kid yerself; many of them don't have that good a handle on good tone, anyway (via decades of good tube amps), and those that CAN tell the diff. don't have to play through your rig...YOU DO. If you are happy, and your tone inspires you, that is truly all that matters.
Which YCV80 combo do you have? Mine is the 80Q, and though it's a great amp, I'd prefer 2x12's (it's just MY sound)...I bought the 10's to do something different for a change. It's a great amp. The only problem is, Along with my Marshalls, it too, I dread moving.
I must be getting old....

Bump! If you don't like the tone, it's hard to get into gear. :hissyfit

If I could afford it, I'd definitely get a CyberTwin. I have a used Cyber-Deluxe that I'm absolutely in love with--and the CyberTwin looks to have even more versatility.

Hi MrMike,
I live in the Grand Rapids area. Michigan is a weird place to live--last week it was 80 degrees and sunny, and today it's in the 30s with some snow on the ground...

I'm in Midland. We're having the same problem.

Gee, I sorta remember Bay City being pretty consistent.
At least in February. It was miserable!

That's only about 15 minutes from here. The weather's about the same, but it smells much worse. They have a sugar processing plant there that generates a pretty horrendous stench. :shock

Crunchyriff - I forgot I posted here, I just found my own thread. Geezer Alert! I have the 2x12 cabinet model. It's heavy enough, can't imagine lifting yours. I'm having a reality attack, am finding I don't need the headroom like I thought I would. I pulled 2 of the output tubes and it helped but I still can't get the tone without being too loud even on stage. That and the CT being so much easier to move around and setup, my Traynor's a homeboy. Every now and then a Trace Elliot "Velocette" will come on Ebay, it's simple little 15w amp that does very, very well. Gibson still offer's it as the Goldtone GA-15, but with over $500 tacked on cause of the name. I could shoot myself for passing up on a Trace that went for $247.. I'd need a couple pedals along with it, but all added up my back would still last allot longer.
