Well our store is pretty much frequented by musicians of any form, style, race, creed, religion or lack of religion. As Norway is one of the leading countries in the Black Metal Industry ( and no, I am not proud of that) we have a lot of these bands in any city as in ours.
Our newest addition to the services we offer is a custom shop kinda thing. Cooperating with some very good manufacturers of bodies, necks and electronics, you can pretty much get any kind of axe from us in any shape and color.
So right after lunch a lil procession of Black Metal guys marches in the door, trying to look big black and scary. Well the chief of the posse lead the word. They had heard about our new custom gig and they wanted us to build 2 guitars and a bass in black, with black hardware of course with upside down cross holograms. And while we were at it we could throw in some pentagrams, and a couple of 666’s on the bass. Of course they knew very well about my faith.
So I get up and being 6’4 with a build like a WWII Tanks kinda throws off even the most feisty dark warriors. So I tell them they are in luck. I have a Satanist special every Monday. The guys looks at me like I am an alien. I continue by telling them we have upside down, upside down crosses for the same price as the normal upside down crosses, and that since we like kids with long black hair we will throw inn 111 numbers for free so they can get some decent 777. As far as the pentagrams goes, we’re all out of templates for those, but that we do have a pretty ancient fish pattern.
The leader of the pack busted out laughing and shook my hand. Apparently they had thought I would have tossed them out of the store, sweeping behind them. They actually sat down and had some coffee and tea as I shared my faith with them. Pretty cool aye?

Man, you did it up right. Don't the Black Metal guys like to burn down churchs, and kill each other?

That's a terrific story!
Worthy of publication in a Christian magazine or something!

I hope the seeds planted someday bear much fruit!

We had a pretty rough period during the 1990's when several churches were burned down. However the main result was more people going to church. of course it is sad that old historic churches are burned down, but the general public actually helped in guarding the buildings regardless of faith.

Yeah we also had some incidents over here where black metal dudes have killed each other and other people, vandalized graveyards and such. Sadly enough what started out as “image” to aid selling records ended up very bad for some people. The main reason that this rampage was able to go on, was that the “grown up” world actually had no clue of the existing subculture. Now we know a lot more about it and we’re able to prevent a lot of the tragedies waiting to happen.

Tertullian put it succinctly (way back in about 195AD):

"The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church..."
