At my new church, men in the choir and musicians are required to wear a sport coat (don't worry, I appreciate the formality... and it beats robes.)

So, I go about it my way and start looking online at Mens Warehouse, etc. Lemme say, it weren't cheap! But, I get this idea... hey, I'll hit some thrift stores. So, as I'm heading down, I say a quick little prayer asking that the Lord help me meet my need.

So, I go to a couple thrift stores and find nothing but mothbait covered with cat hair, but as we're ending our quest, we start to pull away and my wife says "hey, there's a new thrift store there". So, we park and get out. I try on a few sport coats, and they're all too small. I see one last one. As I pick it up, I realize it's a very Krizia two-peice American sack style tailored suit (including buttons sewed into the slacks for suspenders, and the suspenders with alligator skin and gold plated components to boot!) So I try the jacket on and it fits, almost as if it were tailored for me (broad shoulders, portly midsection, and all!) I'm thinking, no way the pants will fit so I ask to try them on. They are PERFECT! Out the door for under $25!

So, I was totally flabbergasted, but it was just a small example of how when one has needs and asks, even in the simplest things, they can receive!

Praise God!!!

There is nothing too small, or too big for Him.

Nothing wrong with wearing clothes that are "slightly worn"
Its something I've taught my teenagers to do & saved me money over the years.

God is good! I "get" to wear suits fairly often. Of my three best, one was a gift from my wife, one a gift from a friend, and one - originally from Nordstroms - I got at the Salvation Army for $24. Amazing grace!

(Hey, what size jacket do you wear? We'll all keep our eyes open for ya lol )

Thanks. :) I've yet to get measured though and the stuff I bought has no sizes listed in it anywhere. I hear that Mens Wearhouse will do it for you and there is one in the next town over (our "big" town in the county.)

I could see where I could maybe use one more sport coat (blue navy blazer so it will go with Dockers, etc.) but with the work that one suit requires, I don't envy you for owning three! :yikes:

I broke out the steamer and went to work to get this one all nice, and by Sunday evening (church, lunch with church folks, hanging out at the kid's youth pastors house, then playing in church that night) it looked like I'd slept in the thing! I'll spend a good amount of time getting it ready for Wednesday night! Well, speaking of that... I better get to steaming it so it doesn't sneak up on me Wednesday afternoon. ;)
