I bought the exact case for my new Gibson Melody Maker - I think you will like it. I was surprised at how nice it is! I knew it would be decent, as I also have a Musicians Friend classical guitar case (for my resonator guitar).
The Melody Maker fits ok - they are a little thinner than a Les Paul, I believe, so the case is a little deeper than it needs to be for my guitar. Apparently this case is too short for Epiphone Les Pauls, btw (according to reviews on Musicians Friend).

Stephen,
Don't wish to throw water on your joy bro, but I'd be REAL careful with that guitar case. Reason being, it only has one neck support, and it's close towards the body. The rest of the neck is unsupported, and THIS is what causes Gibson ( & Hamer) headstocks to mysteriously break-off in their cases. One good fall or jar will be all it takes.
THIS (or something like it) is what you need, bruddah:
http://www.rondomusic.net/ec280lpor.html
IF not THIS case, something with the same neck support layout is what you want. A TKL case will cost you about $100-120+... so there's quite a bit of value there.
FWIW, I've had one of these exact cases from Rondo, and they are VERY well-made. ( I cut that "apron" out of mine) I don't know about you, but for 20 extra, I'd rather have the extra support & won't ever put a Gibby style headstocked guitar in a case that doesn't have dual neck supports as you saw there.
Not being critical bro, just lookin out for ya...

I saw that (the skimpy neck support), and being one that has suffered the brittle headstock syndrome inherent to LP style headstocks, I am aware. I plan on placing another support inside nearer to the headstock (been there, done that before). I'm just a tight-wad (ie: married with children, and scared to death of the missus), and its cheaper than 20 bucks to make an insert/support than for me to buy one with it already in.
And I love that you brothers and sisters look out for me, and eachother! It aint critical, or raining on any parade!

Well, ups tracking says it'll be at my front door Thursday. I hope that it will be the case that most raved about, and not the few that had some issues with it (read the reviews on MM) From the dates of the reviews, it looks like they had problems early on, but it looks like they fixed it. Keepin my fingers crossed.

Just informed that it has arrived!
In about an hour, I will see what I got myself into! Or more like what I got my LP into...............

Well, I just checked out the case, and I am really, REALLY, disappointed!
I'm disappointed that it took me so long to find this deal!
:yeah:
I've gotta tell you, I'm blown away by how nice it is!
I paid 90 bucks for my Freedom case for my Tele, and this case has it beat! The hinges are sturdier, and more fluid in function, and the latches operate smoothly, and engage nice and solid.
My Epiphone Les Paul fits in it like a glove! Some of the reports on it where that the Epiphone LP's did not fit (but then there were other customer comments saying it fit fine). Whatever the case may be, mine fits in perfectly. It has about an 1/8th inch space between the headstock and the case, and the rest of the guitar fits snugly inside. I shook the case with my guitar inside it, and there was no detection of the guitar moving one bit at all. PERFECT!
Looks are excellent too!
I gotta tell ya, I've looked at a lot of cases, and this one ranks right up there with the 100.00 dollar plus cases Ive seen. The only other bargain case that compares is the Rondo Music case, and it is equal too it, but costs another 20 bucks!
Its a great deal in my book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

I have one just like it for my L.P. Studio, but because the body on the Studio is a bit thinner than a Standard, the guitar wiggles around a bit. When it was shipped to me, it must have been bounced around a bit and the toggle switch was broken and the switch tip was crushed. Other than that, it's a great case. I LOVE the way the handle feels. It's even nicer than the handle on the Historic case I have for my Deluxe.
