I just picked up my second Hercules guitar stand.
I leave one at church to use and let the guitarist in the other band use it.
These are the best,(my opinion of course).
What do you guys and gals use?http://i10.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/95/80/970e_2.JPG

I use the Fender folding "mini" stands. I find them more stable then the ones that include a neck cradle...and they fold up and go back in their bag for storage.

I've used the little Fender stands before...still do for acoustic but I lost the electric one somewhere.
Anyway, a little over a year ago I got an Ultimate Genesis guitar stand and have been really happy with it:

The Herc stands aren't that much more and have the automatic yoke things on them, so I might check into one for my next stand.
I also have an Ultimate Genesis amp stand, and I think it's one of the best out there. Very low profile and folds up nice and compact for carrying around.

I might look into the amp stand. I use a Roland AC 60 amp which can be mounted on a speaker stand but I don't have enough room for the legs of a speaker stand.
BTW; In my initial post I said I left the stand at church for the other guitarist to use, we play on alternate weeks so I use it too. :D :guitar3:

I just bought two used K&M stands (low profile type). These things are HEAVY. Should be hard to knock over, though. :D :D

I use a few old Ultimate Guitar Stands. The old version that folds flat. They are good support and very stable. I liked them so much that I combed Ebay for a few months and ended up buying 5 extras to leave at church so they'd always be there and no one would have to bring one in.

I use an Ultimate stand as well. One that the top and legs and bottom support all fold down onto the main unit

There are lots of very good guitar stands out there. This is not an area to go cheap. About 25 years ago I watched in horror as a '53 Les Paul was decapitated due to a fall from a cheap stand (that is a vision that I'll not forget).

I've heard several repairmen say that the vast majority of headstock breaks they see are a result of guitar stands, either ones that were poorly designed or improperly used. It's certainly NOT something you want to save 10 bucks on.
I have a double guitar stand that works great when there are 2 guitars on it, but it feels a little unstable when there's only 1 on it. I'm tempted to carry a third guitar with me to use for ballast, but then I don't have anywhere to put the guitar I use when I'm not using it, which kinda defeats the purpose. ???

I just bought the double guitar Hercules guitar stand.
All I can say is "wow"
I love the locking handle which secures your guitar.
There's no way this would ever tip over or be knocked into.

I use the On-Stage Stands GS7465B Professional Flip-it A-Frame Guitar Stand. It is very stable and sturdy and I totally trust my Les Paul and Stat sitting in it while idle during services.

I had about 5 or 6 of the flat, folding "ultimate" type of guitar stands. I don't know if I still have them (i might) I went to the 5-guitar Rockstand (folding in-a-case) system by warwick after deciding I wanted something a bit more secure, as well as supportive of the neck.

I think in another Stands thread I mentioned I use the Ultimate GS-100 like Brother Jonathan (Surfcaster). I love 'em. They fold down fairly small, length is adjustable for any of my acoustic or electric instruments, are rock solid, and no arms to catch on a guitar cable or strap; the only stand I've used in several years. Only issue I've had is I tend to lose the headstock keepers when I travel, but I emailed Ultimate and they sent me out replacements and a spare at no charge!
