Hey ya Reverbbb,
Got registered and all that good stuff. Thanks for the invite to the forum.
Hello to everyone! Hope the community gets going very well! :D
Rev, my new Schecter C-1 BlackJack sounded pretty nice today! I used it in kid's P/W with two amps running stereo (for kicks) and had Stereo Chorus and Ping Pong delay going - wheee!
I used the Blues Jr. and my little Crate 15w (some day I'll get another BJr and have a matched set). Couldn't get them loud enough or far enough apart to really appreciate the stereo effects out where the kids were (but then again they are kiddos and probably don't care anyway). Back to a single amp for them - I suppose...
Signing off for now - Grace and Peace.

I am glad that you stopped in and signed up. Looking forward to reading your questions and input.
BTW, that is a sharp Schecter that you got yesterday. I love the "Black Beauty" look with the triple binding and all. I am certain that you got a better guitar than the Epi LP for the same amount of money.
Talked to EC today about the retreat. I want you to play during some of the sessions. EC will be working on the set list in the next month or so.
BTW, now that you are here, I insist that you post a before and after picture of yourself.

Have you got a link to a picture of that Schecter?

I'll have to do that in another thread! :D

It's sure purdy... Schecter C-1 BlackJack (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/g=guitar/search/bigpid/base_id/111879/) The pic is of a 7-string - mine is the 6.

I could not find any links at the Schecter Research website except a 9-11 memorial link.
The picture at Musicians Friend does not do the guitar justice. You cannot even see the triple binding in that picture.

I'll take a close up of the binding when I get home tonight... another passion of mine - photography!

Hey Rev - according to the product detail, the tone control is push/pull coil tap!! I thought the knife switch was the only tapping...
I'll have to see if that is true - maybe at lunch :D

Yeah. The pull knob coil tap is a brain child of Tom Anderson when he worked at Schecter. They use that in a bunch of their guitars. It is a nice little surprise when you didn't originally know it was there. Both of the Schecters that I had used pull knob taps.

As you may remember, I told you that both guitarist in Kutless plays the exact same guitar. Here are a couple of photos. If you go to their bio pages, there are some better photos of each guitarist. James Mead (http://www.kutless.com/bio.asp?id=3) & Ryan Shrout (http://www.kutless.com/bio.asp?id=2)

And my favorite photo (can you see the guitars in mid-air?):

Yep - I'm "almost" famous... er... well, the guitar is.
My particular guitar actually does NOT have the coil tap on the tone knob (at least it wouldn't budge when I pulled on it). I think the only tapping going on is with the 5-way knife switch. Which makes sense... it would be redundant to have two ways to tap.
This guitar has a 14" radius neck (I think) and is very, very flat. Compared to my strat (9.5" radius) I am able to get around on the fretboard a little easier. Feels like there is a bit more room for my fingers to move. I like the feel of both guitars (and the Strat tones are "to die for"), though they play quite different.
But I'm just a n00b. What do I know?!
Thanks for the pix. I forgot to get a closeup done on the binding. I got busy last night working on www.rowanguitars.com. The guy makes some REALLY nice axes.
Laterz!

You ain't a kidding. This is one awesome guitar (and art):

The tone and volume knob incorporated into the bridge is the coolest thing I have ever seen on ANY guitar. Have you ever asked him if he has a patent on that idea?
BTW, you are doing a fantastic job of revamping his website. It is looking better all the time.

Acoustasonic Stratocaster has the same controls.

That was the first time I had ever seen that. It is still a really nice feature.

I really like Rowan's Montara series. I think you can get around 16 different tonal pickup variations with the one guitar. Too bad it costs a small fortune!
Genius!
