LOL @ reverbbb :D

Well, as you can see a couple of people know me. I live in Orange County, CA. I play lead guitar in a Christian Ministry band (Spirit Breeze). I've been a Christian for over 20 years. I have been known to have more than a few guitars and amps  I'm a good source of information for guitar set up, finishing, and repair.

You'll find out that I have a pretty good sense of humor!!!!

Sweet! I have some general setup questions for you - probably will post them in the "Guitars, Amps, No Caddy's" area...

Welcome to the fold Micter. Glad to have you aboard.

Thanx Teleguy :)

Pearly Gator I'd be more than happy to help with fixing your SG. Just know that no matter how much work we put into it a broken headstock will never be "good as new". It takes quite a bit of work just to get that type of repair to the point that the guitar is even playable.

I've seen some pretty slick headstock repairs, and some really sick ones!
One of the things that keeps me Fender style is that sturdy maple construction for bumbling oafs like myself.

I took apart an old Danelectro and stuffed it in my seabag on the way to Vietnam.
The headstock got broke on the way over. So the SeaBee carpenters glued it. It worked for a while, then started shifting upwards as the humidity of the tropics got to the gluejoint.
I put a ballpoint pen and some rubber bands around it to capo at the first fret.
Played it that way even when I got back to L.A.

Wonder what ever happened to that thing? I think it got left in my landlord's garage or sumpin'.

It always boils down to how the break is. Some are definately easier than others.

Oh yeah. This one was splintered. Cheap wood and soft and stringy like sugercane or sumpin'.

I once had a Les Paul Recording that was a headstock repair. They finished the repair in a black fade stain. You could not tell it was ever not stock except for that black finish, and that was so well done as to make you think they all must've had it! 8)
