The first 4 feature the MIM Tele with a Bogner Metropolis.
The next batch features a Les Paul Deluxe with the SLO-100.
The last group is some live praise & worship from my church, where I used the SLO-100 crunch mode with a Fender Strat.

peace & great tones,

Randy

Gee, you're a real triple threat: great sounding playing, singing, and writing!
I listened to a lot of GREAT stuff there!

I wish I had something like that to show (for 45 years of playing).
Unfortunately I haven't put much thought into recording anything.
Most of what I wrote is pretty dated now anyway.

I love the grooves you get. I always love a good groove! 8)

Glad you like them.

The SLO-100 is a beast to live with, but it does some really cool tones. There is a high "taming the beast" factor on the front end, because the overdrive channel is very gainy, and can easily be too bright. That does help it to cut through the mix, but even then it can still be a handful.

I spent some time trying to settle it down. Got the Warren Haynes mod (cuts treble on the overdrive channel, and so emphasizes bass and mids), switched to Groove Tubes KT66HP power tubes (emphasizes bass and mids, rolls some treble), and switched from Soldano speakers to Celestion Vintage 30's with a closed back cabinet (had been half open... Mesa Half Back). That's all helped to make it deeper, while the upper mids stand out and give it cut without being harsh.

The Metropolis is a 30 watts Class A type of amp. Its got a very open, radiant and airy type of chime that's really unique to that amp. I've been using that one a lot at church since getting it about a year ago. It loves fuzz (Fulltone Soulbender), but I'm having a hard time finding an overdrive to work with it. The TS-9, OD-9, and FD2 didn't work at all. The Hot Cake was okay, but not scintillating. So, I am going to get a Lovepedal Eternity. Sean's a brilliant guy, and I think it'll do the trick. Check out his stuff at www.lovepedal.com

peace & great tones,

Randy

Randy I REALLY liked your stuff especialy the worship stuff!! The Glory Glory prophetic flow song sounds a LOT like what we are doing!! We aren`t that far apart as I`m in Birmingham it would be fun to get together and jam sometime as it seems we are walkin in the same realm!!Here is my Soundclick link with the stuff we are doing with the worship band http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/setfreemusic.htm .Here is some of my solo stuff http://www.soundclick.com/bands/writePage.cfm?bandid=261302&bandnamesave=theascension and my old band site http://www.fisher-media.com/Ascension/tribute.htm
