GK Backline 600

I'm looking at buying a GK Backline 600 from the GC. In the shop it's got a great sound. Does anyone have any "real life" experience with this head?

They have a used GK 2x10 cab to go with it. What do you think?

Never used a Backline 600, I have a Backline 250 that I like. The 2x10 cabinet would be OK for stage / monitor use - you probably would want something bigger (or a feed to the house) if you plan to use it live. One of the things I like about the GK heads is the XLR out that is post-EQ. Gives you a little more control over what the sound guy gets.

Thanks for the input, Unc. I play bass on an as-needed basis (primarily a guitar guy, with lots of strong opinions on equipment). When it comes to bass amps I've never had too much luck. So I'll take all the wisdom I can pick up!

That said, the B-600 is pretty well reviewed on HC, and I personally like the tone. So maybe I'll scratch up the money for the head, run it through my old PV1820, and worry about a new cab (one smaller than my fridge) later.
