anybody go though a discipleship class designed for the youth praise band? starting to look for one now, and the only one i've come up with so far is "the heart of the artist" by rory noland. i've gone through it myself and it's a really great book with some group discussion questions at the end of every chapter, but i just want to be aware of any other options that are out there for this.

I'm not sure if there are any others.

I have read that book for my own growth and its fantastic.

Of course another way would be to simply go through a regular discipleship material of growing in Christ (do you guys have this "Campus Crusade" thingy?) and then let them determine how they want to express themselves in worship through the instruments.

God bless :-)

we probably will go to a general class like that next. but i would like to see if there is something worship specific out there first that we can do.

I just remembered. Matt Redman wrote a book called The Unquenchable Worshipper.

That oneis not very artist specific, but it has many principles and shows the different qualities of a good worshipper.

i didn't know that he had any books... thanks for mentioning that! i see that he's written a few others as well, and some are actually tailored for a group study.

Our group has been going through another Matt Redman (comprised) book called "The Heart of Worship Files"...definently worth a look.

Its got small 3-5 page chapters from worship leaders from all over the world, with an application-type page at the end (written by another author than the chapter was)
