Based on good reviews from trusted reviewers on another forum I decided to pick up a Dano Fish & Chips EQ pedal. I already have a Boss GE-7, but for about 1/3 the cost it seemed like it was worth trying, especially if it was as good as people claimed. Well...they were right.

This is a great little pedal. Construction is solid and the sliders have a very solid feel to them. It's at least as quiet as the Boss pedal, perhaps even a tad quieter! And sound quality is certainly on par with the Boss. It is NOT true bypass, but then neither is the Boss. I have found no detectable tone degradation with the pedal in my chain.

If you're thinking about getting an EQ pedal, don't let the low price on this one scare you away. If I had discovered this before buying the Boss I wouldn't have the Boss today.

I was thinking about a Dan-O FnC and a Ge7... I took the GE7 because I needed durable pedals.

I have both the Fish and Chips and the GE7. I didn't like the FnC very much because I hit the sliders with my foot. It sounds pretty good but the GE7 is easier to use for me. I also have the Boss EQ 20.

Yeah, I guess I can see that happening. I actually have mine hooked into a looper pedal, so it's always on and I activate the loop with a the looper pedal, so that shouldn't be a problem for me. But I guess if I ever need an EQ pedal without the looper pedal, I'd better use the GE7.
