The Lord has blessed me with some classic pedals and I need some help. The effects are a Dunlop Germanium Fuzz Face RI, a Dunlop Uni-vibe with foot controller and a Dunlop 535QC wah.
I'm having trouble trying to emulate early Hendrix and Trower using a Stratocaster. The first problem with copying Hendrix's tone is that putting the Fuzz Face after the wah changes the character of the FF. With the wah engaged, I have to turn the FF gain to zero to tame it. But, it's tones cannot be controlled with the guitar's volume control. Should the FF come before the wah?
For Trower, I can't get any combination to sound close. Putting a Boss SD-1 after the Univibe gets me a good David Gilmore tone but I'm not after that.
What sequence or settings would you suggest for Hendrix and Trower?
