Hi,

I'm a new guy. I'm a Pastor, Missionary to Africa, worship leader/guitarist and astronaut...well, OK, maybe not an astronaut. I think my signature will link to my gear/photo site for anyone who's interested in peeking.

That's a real '59 Burst and belongs to a friend (Glen Kuykendall) who's a studio player in Nashville. I really does play and sound fabulous. $200,000 is a lot of money for a guitar though

Stephen,

I know, it sounds so rediculous. But those '59 Bursts in original condition really do fetch that kind of money. A close friend of mine is a vintage dealer in the UK and co-wrote that book on Bursts. He use to have one of the world's largest '59 Burst collections. Of course, he was buying them before they went off the charts. Anyway, he still brokers deals around the world for them and he's got the most facinating stories about guys who buy them and what they pay.

If only MIM Teles would suddenly become the stuff

Maybe when we reach glory we can all have '59 bursts....that's a dream of mine; but I would be happy with a '58, too.

Yeah Bro., when we reach glory they'll be using '59 Bursts for door stops.

Nice stash,Nickcha! I see someone else is fond of Tweeds too! :)
I'm new here also....been at the Les Paul Forum for a few years, that's how I found this place. I sold a '59 'burst in '78 for $2000 (twice what I payed for it),and was going to repurchase it,but couldn't...oh well.If I had it now,I would convert it into a house!

Refin,

Nice to see you here. I'm new also. I've been a LPF member for quite some time, but I'm not real regular at posting there.

Right you are about buying a house with the proceeds of a '59 Burst sale! I guess if a homeless guy were walking the streets w/ a Burst, he'd at least have the consolation of knowing he could change his situation 1000-fold at any minute :)
