I read elswhere that someone bought a Boss NS-2 for $69.
Well, I went to Guitar Center last night in excitement that I could get me one of those NS-2 too. But the guy said they were $99.00 . I bawked big time but he wouldn't budge on the price.
So, I bought the Rocktron Hush pedal instead.
What a joke! This thing did a fine job of knocking out the guitar noise. But it sounded horrible at all settings. It was like a compressor, expander and noise gate that had lost their meaning in life and could not find their way home again. I know what it was trying to do (boost the weak signals and squash the strong). But it was the worst pedal I had ever put under my feet. Either something was seriously mal-adjusted from the factory, or it is simply a piece of junk.
I'm taking it back today. Unless I can find a NS-2 for $69, I'll just live with my little hum for a while.
Based on my experience, I would advise to flush the Hush!
