Yesterday I made an interesting discovery with my trio of Digitech dirt boxes. My collection consists of the Bad Monkey, Screamin' Blues and Hot Head.

These pedals seem to sound best when they are first in the chain. They are very dynamic and natural sounding with the guitar going directly into them. If they come later in the chain, like after a pedal with "virtual bypass" the sound is more unnatural and they have a funky buzz to them.

Has anyone heard something about this issue?

Later,

Gator

Could simply be your patch cables..

Otherwise, its the buffers in the other pedals changing some impedances making the Digitechs not like them.

I noticed that too: I love the screamin blues first in the cahin, right in front of my tube screamer.

If I move it down the line, BLECH!!!!!!

I'm going to give that a shot. I'd been running into a Visual Sound Route 66, then into a Bad Monkey. The maker recomends it that way because the Route 66 supposedly buffers the rest of the chain, but maybe this way will be even better. I really like the Monkey, I've been thinking about getting another and ditching the 66.

I'm currently running my Bad Monkey after my Crybaby, but I like the sound better with it in front, but then the Wah doesn't sound as good.

Do you think If I modded my wah true bypass it would help?

Other suggestions?
