looking for an affordable acoustic pedal for recording and use in congregation. Have any one tried yamaha AG stomp or Boss AD-5. Which gear is more worth using. Is anyone selling. Need it badly.
God bless

The Yamaha AG sounded OK. I did not care too much for the Boss version. Most of the se pedals are going to do a make-shift job at sounding like a real acoustic. They have a tendency to sound very pizeo like.
For the more expensive route, the Line6 Variax makes a somewhat believable acoustic sounding guitar. Then there is the GN pedal that kewlpack has. It has an acoustic simulation feature on it.
These pedals may work best when your acoustic is blended into the mix of other instruments. When they are used as a solo rhythm part, the discriminating ear will detect the strangeness of the simulation fairly quickly and surely.
I would buy one from a place that allows returns. Try the Yamamha and see if you like it. It may work just fine for you.

Ehrm...
I've had a few different acoustic sims (via pedalboards like the GNX4)... unfortunately I have yet to find a convincing or even complimentary setting that really works for me.
I keep procrastinating going over to the digitech gnx forums and grabbing the acoustic presets that other users have come up with... guess I should do that soon. I'll get around to it... sometime.
So when I want an acoustic, I break out the Ovation.
