Hey Howdy,
I'm Steve, and play a Telecaster for Praise and Worship (usually), with an Ampeg RI tube amp.
Every other week I lead the singing, then on alternate Sundays I just stay in the back line and play fills and rhythm figures with the bass and drum guys.
We like all the Contemporary Praise and Worship stuff that's out there now.
It's a small church, with a Drug Rehab Program as the main emphasis, so the "audience" is always changing. Many get saved!
The pastor is great, and preaches from the Word. The guy's got revelation week after week. Amazing.
He can show the path of Christ's redemption throughout the Old Testament through the new in ways that just blow my mind, and I'm not a new Christian either.
My wife is my biggest guitar fan. I've played plenty of "secular" gigs too: mostly Jazz and Showtunes, Pop standards, Union hack jobs, etc. as well as Prison bands and ministry.
Glad to have found Y'all!

Welcome

I'm fairly new myself but glad you found the site too. :D
Like I said in one of my first posts, it is good to find folks that share more in common than just guitars. When you can marry a passion and a hobby you have a pretty good mixture.

Thanks and welcome back atcha!

Yeah, most of the secular jobs I've played were pretty meaningless, ultimately.
I do enjoy playing Praise and Worship music and it is meaningful at least to me, and hopefully allows others to experience Worship in deep meaningful way.
When I have a cold, the monitors are hosed up, or I'm just feeling out of it, almost always somebody will share that the music was special. Go figure!
