I have a friend in the UK who works for a rather larger PR bureau. They mainly work with massive multi media campaigns for mid to big size corporations. Some years ago they were running a Christmas campaign for a big and posh department store, you know, the extra deluxe package. Radio spots, TV ads, billboards, advertisement on busses, taxis and everything. To top it off they wanted to make an exclusive statement that this indeed was the place to do your Christmas shopping. The Art Directors came up with a beautiful glossy brochure; you know the kind that says Exclusive gifts at reasonable prices. Well on the main page, there was a picture of this perfect family, with perfect smiles and perfect Christmas spirit about to get their presents from Santa Claus. The heading read “Happy Holidays Satan Claus is coming to town†Luckily they discovered it right before 120 000 brochures hit the street.
